CNN questions CBS

"Experts contacted by CNN say there are some inconsistencies in the type style and formatting -- noting those styles then existed on typewriters but were not common. They also say only a review of the original documents -- not copies -- can completely resolve the matter," reported CNN's Wolf Blitzer.

MSM reporting on MSM because MSM brutally blogged by 'common people'.

"The story is true. The story is true," [CBS's Dan] Rather said. "The questions raised in the story are serious and legitimate questions."

I didn't catch Rather's newscast last evening. From what I read, he stands by the story - the reporting, the authenticity of the documents, and the memo's veracity. Don't anticipate an apology -- "not even discussed. Nor should it be."

There is a bit of traction over whether W should just answer the allegations, regardless of the documents' legitimacy. “I think they are reasonable and legitimate questions the White House ought to answer,” John Edwards said in an interviewyesterday.

That notion, along with Senator Bob Graham's ridiculous notion that Bush and Congress should initiate an independent probe into Saudi Arabian connections with the 9/11 death pilots, is pure political pap. The Dems are heating up the kitchen.
