Here comes a multi-part thought-post.
Theoretically, I hope10,000 people read it, nod their heads, and respond. Realistically, I’m writing to myself. I trolled a minute number of stranger blogs today. Many of us are saying the same thing. Many of us hold a different view of the world, but are still saying the same thing. There are an infinite number of theme-based blogs. But the cold, hard truth is there are way too many out there; they cannot all be regularly, or even periodically perused. There are only so many hours available in the day.
That’s OK, because in the pre-internet days, most dedicated journalists did the exercise alone; they put their thoughts to paper or disc, and there the musings stayed. Perhaps they had in mind a great ‘story’ they would write based upon the saga of their lives. Or maybe they imagined their labor of love would provide a layer of richness no cut-and-dry genealogical compilation could ever hope to achieve. Writers write.
I am reminded of ‘The Advocate’, a film in which Al Pacino plays an uber-evil lawyer devil, and Keannu Reeves is his free-will, struggling minion. Satan’s favorite sin is ...vanity. It’s a weakness that touches most of us and certainly, if not all, bloggers to some degree. To wit: if we happen not to be noticed now, we'll hope to be noticed ‘later’ in a different of venue.
Or we plan a different tack. We would not blog the internet if we did not hold out hope that some people will notice and respond to our posts. Else, what is the point? A word processor is amply sufficient, as is a ball-point pen.
So there’s the first part of a ramble (to myself (and anyone else reading)(I guess bloggers are a little like politicians – we want your vote (of confidence)) . Maybe I will finish the piece, compile it and give a talk to a bunch of earnest senior citizens or earnest congregationalists. You can use hand and facial gestures in those settings. And your cogent thoughts, if forcefully delivered will be remembered and discussed until mealtime.

Found your website with "Next Blog"
I agree. I wondered if this activity is nothing more than a sick narcissistic venture. Anyway, you got your wish; some random person in blogsphere happened to come across your site and agreed with it.
BTW, I like some of the other comments you made also. Keep it up, will visit from time to time.
