Israel's anti-terror arm reaches out

Fighting fire with fire.

Israeli operatives carried the fight against Palestinian terrorists into Syria's capital city. Terrorist-style methods were employed. "Police at the scene were seen retrieving pieces of the body of Izz Eldine Subhi Sheik Khalil, [42]. His death was also reported on the official Hamas Web site and by Israeli security sources," the AP has reported.

The car-bombing appears to be in direct retaliation of two suicide-bombings in Beersheba on 8-21-04 which killed 16 Israelis.

The strike is a new tactic for Israel. It dovetails with US policy: terror-militants are not safe anywhere. Damascus...of all places.

Mr. Byrd, please allow me to use your forum to comment upon Phil's comment on this post. Phil, I would disagree with you in characterizing Israel as a terrorist state because they assasinated a terrorist leader. They took out a dude who has been responsible for killing their people while they eat in restaurants or ride the bus to work, school or the market--including children. I am not aware of Israel deliberately killing children and the elderly as they live their life. Sure, there may have been so called collateral casualties. Phil, you are not making an accurate comparison (in my opinion).

Israel is protecting her people. More power to them.

Right on, Ferd! What you said is clear as the nose on Phil's face!
