Wanted: GOP Anti-vote thugs

The wannabe master of the liberal plantation is at it again. Amid his own cries for civility and more talk on the issues, Sen. John Forbes Kerry (D-MA) has lurched downward into 'they-are-poisoning-the-water' and 'old-people-will-be-forced-to-eat-dogfood' political rhetoric of the rankest and vilest sort.

"We are not going to stand by and allow another million African American votes to go uncounted in this election," the Democratic presidential nominee told the Congressional Black Caucus.

"We are not going to stand by and allow acts of voter suppression, and we're hearing those things again in this election."

This makes my blood boil! I am driven to anger! Then, my level-headed wife justs laughs. "Come on, now. You know that's not at all true. Do you really think sane people believe that pap?" Well, no. But if they don't, then why does he say it? And I get mad! You just can't go around lying like that. But then I remember...this is politics. All you need is a grain of truth, and then you can say anything you want.

"What they did in Florida in 2000, some say they may be planning to do this year in battleground states all across this country," Kerry said. "Well, we are here to let them know that we will fight tooth and nail to make sure that this time, every vote is counted and every vote counts."

For the twentieth time, it did not happen that way. Replace 'Kerry' with 'Bush' and the above statement is more true, in my opinion. It was the Democrats who chose three large (heavily Democratic) precincts and tried to change the outcome -- in the courts. That is what happened.

Kerry has a team of lawyers to examine possible voting problems to try to prevent a repeat of the 2000 election disputes. He also has said he has thousands of lawyers around the country prepared to monitor the polls on election day.

See? He is planning to (legally) fudge the election!!! He makes it clear! Florida 2000 was simply a Democratic training ground.

But there I go again. As Hugh Hewitt's book title says: "If it's not close, they can't cheat." 50,000 lawyers, try as they might, cannot change the will of the people if the count is not close.
