We Readers and Posters

If you’re posting or commenting in this 'sea', you are ‘invisible’. Don’t get me wrong. Google ‘HunterByrd’ and I’m there. Anyone who has written and posted is ‘there’. I’m not speaking in a literal sense. I’m speaking in a sense of ‘continuum’. I’m speaking of ‘participants’ in this relatively new phenomenon. Whether you are a poster or a commenter, you are a participant in a movement that has seen the light of ‘day’ only recently .

Welcome, my friends to the show that never ends (as has been shown). Welcome to the blogosphere. Those of us who have been tuned to politics and the media have seen a real spectacle this season. It started with the Swift Vets; it continues today by way of proportional spacing and kerning (the Rather forgeries). We who have read and commented on hyper-developments are left, if not with our breaths taken away, then a bit of awe.

We are witnessing a great, populist revolution. Thousands of ‘nerds’ (it’s a PC ‘chic’ term now) and former armchair pundits and private eyes have pounced on the old-line media with a vengeance never before seen. After all, in past times, the media, was the ‘fourth estate’, that vaunted keeper of the public interest. Times are not that simple...in this day.

Now, the main stream media has evolved into the keeper of its inhabitant’s own bias. Natural, when you take into account the university. University has been peopled by bias. Bias of the Left. Deny it. Go on, try. But what is it that feeds the main stream media? The schools. Go to school, get a job from the one whose sentiments agree with your own.

We have had enough. Common sense is independent of any teacher, or set of professors, in any college or university. "You can kill the man, but you can not kill the idea." "So it goes," said Vonnegut. Ideas are our currency; passion is that fuel fires it. Thank the Lord, ideas flow freely in America today.

The blogosphere, the most recent vehicle of democracy, is founded upon truth and common sense.

Ideology does not fuel it. Bias, or party line, can’t overcome it. Sensitivity training cannot affect it. Truth will out, friends. Truth will out.

If you feel like you are nameless and invisible, you are not alone. If you’re website has "0 Comments", don’t feel that your efforts are in vain. Instead, look at the forest instead of the trees. These are new times. Nerds are empowered beyond measure; think of the power and result of a hurricane. We are looking at the latest incarnation of ‘mass conscience’. This is good for a civil, interactive society.

Do your part, even if it means writing only for yourself, as I do now (one never knows, do one?). Place your thought in the ‘sphere’. It is, in the end, your own effort, and your personal satisfaction. If your own accomplishment means nothing to you, then what does?

Whether we are one or one in 100,000, our efforts and our thought contribute in ways we can now only imagine.

Keep the faith, and be faithful. Post, and post often. Semper Fidelis.
