Iraqi Elections - NOW!
To hear NPR tell the tale...or the BBC...or Al Jazeera (take your pick), the chances for an orderly Iraqi election are slip sliding away. Violence in the green zone. Insurgency in Falujha. Quagmire (take your pick). All are words and phrases of pessimism - or joy - if you stand with Kerry/Edwards.
This word from Omar is closer to the Iraqi home and hearth than that of Steve Inskeep: a recent poll of Baghdadis indicate nearly 81% of Iraqis want elections to be held without delay.
Pray that it be so. Peace in our time...just not according to the Neville Chamberlain (Kerry?) school.
