Saints Preserve Us

There is nothing like the rhetoric of the desperate. We are now within two weeks of the election, and the din is about to shatter the stemware. Imagine, for a moment, if half of what the politicians (of both stripes) say were to actually be the case. We would live in a nightmarish world that was beyond the pale. Thank heaven for reality.

"He's created something that didn't exist before the war in Iraq — he's created a haven for terrorists," Edwards said.

"This is not leadership — this is incompetence," Edwards said.

"While they campaign on fear, we're going to talk about the facts," Edwards told about 500 supporters.

Yep. Positive campaign. Just the facts. No fearmongering from we band of Dems...

"If you can't get flu vaccines to Americans, what kind of health care program are you running?" Kerry said in an interview with National Public Radio. "It's a serious demonstration of the failure of leadership." Source.

Perfect case in point. The flu vaccine. It is a health issue. It is not a political issue. It has become one because of its fear-factor potential among the aged and infirm.

Meanwhile, across the pond in dear old Italy, Italian Defense Minister Antonio Martino was asked in an interview what he might expect in the way of changes if the senator from Massachusetts were to be elected. "Nothing. The general political orientation does not change. Kerry voted in favor of the intervention (in Iraq)."

However, he ADDED: "The only thing that worries me is that the man appears to change opinions with a certain ease." On a dime.
